This tour is for people who want to see two of Namibia’s main attractions in a short time—the Namib Desert and Etosha National Park. It’s a beautiful tour with plenty of space to enjoy the stunning beauty of Namib. You’ll visit Sossusvlei, where you can see some of the world’s tallest dunes and amazing views. Then, you’ll head north to Etosha National Park for an authentic safari experience. In this special place, you can see the Big Five and more.
Windhoek
This morning, Safari Soul Africa will pick you up from your accommodation in Windhoek, unless you are arriving at Hosea Kutako International Airport. You will leave Windhoek at 10:00 AM in a safari vehicle with your private guide. You’ll drive southwest through the scenic Khomas Hochland highlands before heading down the Great Escarpment into the Namib Desert. Along the way, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic location. In the mid-afternoon, you will arrive at Namib Desert Lodge, where you will stay for two nights while exploring the sights of the Namib Desert with your guide. If there is still time today, your guide will take you to visit Sesriem Canyon, a nearby geological attraction, or explore Elim Dune. Alternatively, you can relax at the scenic and tranquil surroundings at Namib Desert Lodge. After a long day, you will freshen up for dinner, and spend the rest of the night at your leisure.

Upon an early awakening, enjoy a tasty breakfast in preparation for the day ahead. The ensuing itinerary will involve embarking on the Sossusvlei Excursion en route to Namib Naukluft Park. Timely departure is essential to preempt long queues at the entrance to Sossusvlei, affording the opportunity to capture the dunes in the soft morning light, thereby accentuating their imposing silhouettes and sinuous contours. The pinnacle of the outing will be the ascent of the highest dune, known as big daddy, at Sossusvlei. Following the exploration of Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, and the surrounding dune fields, a leisurely picnic brunch will be relished in the shelter of a camelthorn tree. Subsequently, a return to the lodge is scheduled for the early afternoon, allowing for a late lunch. The latter part of the day may be devoted to a visit to Sesriem Canyon, should it not have been previously explored. The remainder of the day is designated for personal leisure.

After coming to a stop at the port town of Walvis Bay, you will head north to Swakopmund, where you may spend the following night taking advantage of the delightful seaside setting and refreshing coastal wind. You have the entire day to yourself. At Swakopmund, a variety of alternative activities are available for your personal use. You may ask your guide questions here, and he will give you advice on the many activities that are on your own account. Lunch will be enjoyed en route, and you are expected to arrive in the late afternoon. Upon check-in, you will meet your guide at the main area and set off on a game viewing experience in your private vehicle, visiting waterholes. We will go across the game reserve today in quest of animals, spending the majority of the day in search of our next rest site, Namutoni. We will stop to see the Etosha Pan, also referred to as the “place of dry water,” and visit other waterholes along the way. This vast, level depression spans around 5,000 square kilometers and is home to sparkling mirages. It’s a rare experience to see big herds of wildlife in this environment. Before moving on to Namutoni, we will make a lunch break in Halali, the halfway camp.
We will unwind in the waterhole or swimming pool at Namutoni before going on a late-afternoon wildlife drive. With close-up views of springboks, zebras, impalas, giraffes, gemsboks, and an abundance of birds, game watching is often superb here. Lions and elephants can also be visible. Before supper in the evening, we will sip on a bottle of wine and take in the breathtaking sunset from the historic German fort in Namibia.

Make yourself ready for the lengthy, picturesque trip back to Windhoek following an early game drive and the chance to snap some further photos of Etosha’s animals. We’ll travel through both rural and urban regions before arriving to Okahandja, a little town that is home to Namibia’s biggest wood carving market. The stalls provide a wide selection of authentic Namibian mementos and are run on a local cooperative basis. We want to return to Windhoek by 4:00 pm in the afternoon. You are going to be dropped off at your hotel. If you are heading back to your own country, please make arrangements with the guide to get behind the wheel as soon as possible
As is our tradition, we will hold a brief thank you ceremony and present you with personalized gifts to show our gratitude for choosing to tour with us.
