Upon reaching Cape Town, a representative from Safari Soul Africa will be there to greet you and hand over the keys to your rental car. Your self-drive adventure kicks off with a brief drive to your waterfront lodging. In the afternoon, you might consider ascending Table Mountain in a revolving cable car or exploring Robben Island and the District Six Museum to delve into South Africa’s history and the enduring legacy of Nelson Mandela. Additionally, there are optional accommodation upgrades available for an additional fee.

Today, you’ll depart from Cape Town and travel south to Hermanus for a three-night stay. During your time in Hermanus, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in whale watching excursions or ocean safaris, where you can learn about the local marine life including Cape fur seals and African penguins. Additionally, there are adventure activities available such as mountain biking, forest treks, and zip-lining. Optional accommodation upgrades are available for an additional cost.

During your visit to Hermanus and the surrounding area, you’ll have an additional two days to explore and take part in the various activities and excursions available. You’ll be staying at an exclusive boutique hotel by the banks of the Bitou River, located 7km outside of Plettenberg Bay, for the next two nights. Today, you will depart from Plettenberg Bay and embark on a scenic coastal drive lasting approximately 4 hours, leading you to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Upon arrival at the reserve’s entrance, a guide will be there to meet you, and you will switch from your rental vehicle to the lodge’s 4×4 Land Cruiser. During your visit, you will be staying at Kwandwe Ecca Lodge, a luxurious and family-friendly property offering accommodation in 9 rooms and a wide range of safari activities. The lodge is an excellent choice for families as it is non-malarial and designed to be child-friendly.

Today, there will be two additional game drives where you can expect to see a variety of wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, and rhinos. Additionally, your family can take part in entertaining activities like a scavenger hunt, following a map and collecting items for various activities. You can also participate in a treasure hunt during a game drive, using navigation skills and a sun-compass to find hidden treasures around the reserve. On the second day of your safari, you will have another full day to explore Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, with two game drives and the option to join a guided bush walk or simply relax by the pool in between drives.

At the conclusion of your South Africa Family Adventure tour, you’ll have the morning to savor the beautiful surroundings and your accommodation.
